Women on the Verge...

Six young women arrive at university and meet for the first time. Their lives and relationships will be shaped and explored by the players over a thirty year period.

Women on the Verge… is about the evolution of female friendships over time. It is interested in the ebb and flow of warmth, trust, respect and emotional closeness around the group, as time goes on and life events happen. It’s also interested in players’ exploration of how women's lives express themselves as they grow older.

Characters will be created in a pre-game workshop by those taking part. There is no GM in a traditional sense, and everyone will jointly create a shared story. The facilitator will guide the other players through the process with the help of pre- written character skeletons designed to be fleshed out in game.

There is a general pre-game brief of less than 20 pages, but it is provided for the information of the players and reading it is not required. A small amount of reading and writing may happen during the pre-game workshop, but this can be worked around if that would cause difficulties for anyone. No specific costuming requirements.

The game is written with the intention that the players are all women, because lived experience as a woman is important to its context of exploring female relationships. For this run it is suggested that "women" will mean "people who self-identify as female more than any other gender identity or lack of gender identity".
