Lucky Consequences, November 22–26, 2018, Naish Holiday Village, Christchurch, Dorset
We've implemented an anti-harassment policy (an official rule stating that personal harassment will not be tolerated at Consequences) in response to reports of harassment in geek communities and at conventions. We want Consequences to continue to be a friendly and safe space for everyone.
Consequences is dedicated to providing a safe, fun convention experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion. All attendees at Consequences are expected to treat other attendees, guests, staff, and the general public with respect. Physical and verbal harassment and sexual assault will not be tolerated. If an attendee engages in harassing behaviour, the organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the conference with no refund, and in some cases, involving the police.
Some examples of harassment include:
Please note this list is not exhaustive. Participants asked to stop any harassing behaviour are expected to comply immediately.
Freeforms can be a very intensive experience that may express relationships between players that only exist in game, an in game relationship does not imply an out of game relationship or consent.
In some cases you may find the harassment stops if you clearly say 'no' or 'leave me alone', or simply walk away. We would appreciate it if a convention organiser is informed however, to help us identify any repeat offenders.
If you continue to be harassed or notice someone else being harassed, please notify the organisers by contacting the Ops desk. We will be happy to help you contact venue security or law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe during the convention.
Thank you for helping us to make Consequences a safe and inclusive event that everyone can enjoy. Contact us for further information.
