Here Be Pyrates! is a
freeform roleplaying game set in the
Caribbean around 1720, in the heyday of gentlemen – and women! – pirates.
It is based on old and new novels, films and even real pirates from a wide
period and various regions, and is a complete work of fiction. Players
assume the roles of various pirates, heroes, daring travellers and the
like; and the women are equal to the men not least in notoriety, power and
influence – because, yes, there really were women pirates! Expect drama,
romance, and death, but most of all a lot of swashbuckling! As with other freeforms we will be taking liberties with both original characters and history, so please don’t assume anything beforehand; and, well, we like to write surprises. |
